I've looked at it after your message but in any case this would still be a bandage 🩹 requiring a manual operation (or may be it could be automated if I can detect the loss of connection somehow) to restore the system and not a solution.
So far no checking "Clean Session" or balancing across multiple broker configurations should be safer.

Of course yes. But related to what @dceejay said, we may never add this facility as it is a bit uncommon.
So I thought I'd offer it up as a potential band aid that could be automated at runtime.
