# Anybody using Node-RED with Salesforce?

I was working on some nodes to use with Salesforce but I stopped that work once I realized that developing forms for my nodes would take some time and could end up in spaghetti code if I used a single .html file to write everything I would need. So, I went on a journey to find a way to write node forms using Vue, and I think I reached a level where I'm happy with it. Therefore I can finally return to work on those Salesforce nodes. In the following link you can see the current implementation of these nodes. I built it with another guy I met online and then we made it public because people can help us improving them.

However, before I continue with the implementation, I would like to understand if there is anybody using Node-RED with Salesforce, and how you guys are using it

One thing I think node-red would be useful, besides querying data, is for demoing things like oauth/openid flows. So the first thing I'm planning is to add PKCE and authorization grant flows.

Sorry, my only experience with Salesforce is with a government commercial system and obviously, I have no back-end access to that much as I would like to have. 😃

Were you guys using salesforce to store enemies information as if they were customers while you were spying on them? Were you part of the MI6? I want to travel to the UK one day. I lived in ireland for almost 12 months and didn’t vist the UK ☹

Hah - Julian works with the UK National Health Service (NHS) so a big Gov related organisation but def not MI6 - and Salesforce is mainly used for front end engagement type systems. eg [gov.uk](http://gov.uk) .

You shouldn’t have a problem travelling to UK unless you were up to no good in Ireland while visiting… 🕵

I could tell you but then I'd have to .......... 😈

As Dave says, nothing quite that sinister though I have been involved with critical national infrastructure security in the past so I've seen a few "interesting" and scary things.

These days I deal with assuring (well trying to assure anyway) that the £bn's that the NHS spends on tech and digital services meet government delivery standards and makes at least a little sense.

There is a system used widely across the NHS that is written by Salesforce and is used for managing the commercial processes such as business case approval and contract management. Unfortunately, I've had to get far more involved with it than I would really like or want.

Well, the UK is still a far more welcoming place than the USA right now so come on over. If you ever find yourself in Sheffield, let me know. 🙂

And as long as you take a proper flight or ferry rather than a dodgy inflatable across the Channel! 🤣

Shouldn't that be 'ensure'? Assure is what politicians do when trying to convince us all is going well, Ensure is what I am sure you do, making sure things actually happen. 🙂

I wish! We have only limited control right now so we only Assure. We are trying to turn the "A" into Audit though with more teeth. What we really to is to try and apply sensible risk management approaches. We are a small team with a big remit. We regularly work through business cases that total billions per year and people are slowly awakening to what we do and how we can help. Many are rapidly trying to muscle in on what we do but thankfully, we have good backing from the civil service and the ministers.

We are being abolished - well, the 50% that are left after the current cull will end up in other places. Many in the Department for Health and Social Care, a direct government department. The rest likely to either end up in regional NHS bodies or in the NHS Business Services Authority.

The team that I am part of will likely end up either in DHSC or BSA and won't loose any staff except me - as I will be retired by then! 😃

MI6 appears in 007 movies. That must explain why its infrastructure is so much better than NHS's. Look at the size of Jeff Bezos yachy! Bro can’t have a big boat unless 007 movies are profitable

Buildings for the less snazzy "other lot" are a lot less showy. (e.g. 6 - 1). But still full of people with only first names and with heavy armed guards at the entrances. 😃

And in case you may think otherwise, no I'm not giving anything sensitive away and I don't really deal with that stuff any more.
