I am trying to install "Arduino -node-red-node-arduino"
A Node-RED node to talk to an Arduino running firmata
it is on a new PC whit Win-10

I try to run the 2 npm command , but it will not install the Arduino node, all othere nodes is installe whitout any problems.

Maybe you can try to install the Arduino node (whit the firmata funktion)... And see if you gat same error.

You may be better off going to [the node.js website](https://nodejs.org/) and downloading the latest LTS version and installing it. There will be an option to check that will install build-tools.

I have build me a new PC whit win-10 and install Node-red on it, and I have also installed all this node:
node-red-contrib-msg-resend
node-red-contrib-ui-led
node-red-contrib-ui-level
node-red-contrib-ui-media
node-red-node-ui-list
node-red-dashboard
node-red-node-wol
node-red-contrib-string
node-red-contrib-ui-svg
node-red-contrib-simple-gate
node-red-node-ping
node-red-contrib-flexradio
node-red-contrib-convert
node-red-contrib-image-tools
node-red-contrib-startup-trigger
node-red-contrib-ui-digital-display
But I get error on this node:
node-red-contrib-stoptimer3
and also on
node-red-arduino (Node to talk to an Arduino running firmata)
and I as you wrote, I installed the last node.js..... but still same problem
I am not a expert in node-red just a novice...but this problem is out of my mind 😉

When you installed nodejs did you tell it to install the build tools?

It is not the same problem, you are now getting a different problem. I don't use windows so don't know the solution to that one. Probably someone else can help.

Visual studio is a Windows package, so that error is not going to appear on Linux.
