Simple question, maybe one that has already been covered and apologies if so. Is it possible to conditionally show a widget?

For example, if a rainfall level graph is empty then Don’t show it, instead I might want to show something else. I know the graph widget has the ability to show a text label for no data, I mean actually don’t render the graph at all.

You could use ui control to show or hide it as required.
