# Custom Pallettes

Enable users to create custom pallette groups/pages.
- Users can add specific nodes or entire categories in their custom grups/pages.
- Groups/pages are swapped with a keyboard shortcut.
- every flow tab has its own group/page context. This means when switching flow tabs the chosen pallette of that tab will be resolved.
- No need for animating the pallete swapping but it would be nice if there was a smooth and modern animation while swapping pallettes
This would remove the constant pain of expanding and closing categories, and vertical scrolling.

Personally I rarely use the palette, I use Ctrl click and start typing.

Thank you @GogoVega. But this is not what I was thinking. Subcategories does not eliminate vertical scrolling, and can increase the time spent opening and closing categories to find nodes depending on how developers subcategorize their nodes, and the number of levels they define.

When you dont know the available nodes in the environment you are working, you probably use the palette to access the node's documentation, right? Once you are familiar with the nodes in your editor, you switch to typing because it is faster. I know typing is faster but I still like to drag and drop nodes.
