Is the old dashboard included by default with Node-Red?

This does not make sense to my brain

You have to install a dashboard - it is not bundled-in during a Node-RED install.

You are correct in your statement - [Dashboard 1](https://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-dashboard) is deprecated.

Dashboard-2 is available [here](https://flows.nodered.org/node/@flowfuse/node-red-dashboard)

Note: Both dashboards can co-exist happily together (whilst people make the transition).
Note: I have no idea what those 'stats' mean in this situation.

So more users are installing the old deprecated no longer supported dashboard than the shiny new supported dashboard 2 unless those download figures are 🍌 🍌

Recently there was a posting from [SmithTek](https://discourse.nodered.org/t/new-scada-ui-nodes/101844) about their SCADA 3DM node that makes creating a floating visually attractive dashboard very easy.

I used their node to try it out on my [home network](https://discourse.nodered.org/t/using-smithtek-3dm-canvas-for-a-home-automation-project/101865).

Looking at NPM, please note that this page is not updated in real time. It is only maintained until the new version is released.

The current weekly data can be found here:

[node-red-dashboard - npm](https://www.npmjs.com/package/node-red-dashboard)

[@flowfuse/node-red-dashboard - npm](https://www.npmjs.com/package/@flowfuse/node-red-dashboard)

Dashboard 1 is running on the old Angular version, while Dashboard 2 has already been build on Vue.

I've seen those NPM stats. I'm just thinking it's odd that if you search for node-red-dashboard on the nodered site you have to go to page 4 of 6 before you find it and it's clearly marked

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex026/uploads/nodered/original/3X/5/1/514f56421c9b604986ab50d293be330a7527093e.png)

whereas the flowfuse dashboard is the first node in the search results. so either those download stats are rubbish or users are still downloading the old dashboard. Myself, I migrated to the new dashboard many months ago. It's just an observation really. And I believe dashboard 2 is built on vue.js 🙂

Right, it’s on Vue. Sorry

I noticed that a few weeks back.

The consensus was:

> By the way, these numbers are far higher than actual installations. I think this is another fallout from AI use and possibly more cloud-based CI use as well. I suspect that some AI's grab another copy of the source when they are trying to answer some questions.

Both of your assumptions are correct. People ARE still downloading the old version since it is simpler and it does work - though obviously not being actively updated any more. However, the absolute numbers are rubbish now. They are massively inflated all round, as JBudd says, most likely due to AI downloads.

If we are going to mention other alternatives, lets not forget that UIBUILDER has been in active and stable development for over a decade. It does not have any front-end framework dependencies unlike the Dashboards (though, of course, you can add them if you like). You can use general web development tools to design and build interfaces then integrate to Node-RED using the UIBUILDER interface.
