# Debug nodes are not working properly

You haven't provided much information to allow someone to help you.

1. what platform and OS are you running NR on?
2. what version of Node-RED are you using?
3. What version of Node.js?
4. Have you ever seen a debug message in the sidebar?

- if so what changed?

1. Are the `debug` nodes active?
