# DHT11 works only on root

DHT11 node only runs on pi root . How do i fix this?

How do i boot nodered on root ? Is this the way to do it?

if you mean the node-red-contrib-dht-sensor

the solution is in the nodes readme under the section titled “problems”

I have not used it, but assuming you are using node-red-contrib-dht-sensor the instructions for installing the node link to the page for installing the BCM library which appear to say that for Jessie and above you don’t need to run as root, provided you follow the instructions there.
