# ECONNREFUSED error with siemens s7 node

Trying to connect to a siemens PLC to pull sensor data into node red. I've done this successfully in the past but I'm now getting this error. I've double checked port and rack/slot info and they match working nodes we're using to connect to other PLCs. Does anyone have any experience with this error and what it might point to?

As you havent stated the exact node or your PLC model - we can only guess.

#### _my guess..._

Did you follow the instructions in the [readme](https://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-contrib-s7)...

> - "Optimized block access" must be disabled for the DBs we want to access ([image](http://snap7.sourceforge.net/snap7_client_file/db_1500.bmp))
> - In the "Protection" section of the CPU Properties, enable the "Permit access with PUT/GET" checkbox ([image](http://snap7.sourceforge.net/snap7_client_file/cpu_1500.bmp))
