# From buffer-parser to values

@Wolfe please read this article: [Modernize your legacy industrial data. Part 2. • FlowFuse](https://flowfuse.com/blog/2023/09/modernize-your-legacy-industrial-data-part2/) - it was written to help fold avoid the kind of mis-steps you have taken.

- There is no need to join - read all data at once
- Dont read individual registers or you get inconsistent data (though not so important here)
