# FTP node on NR? Could we possibly know if the file transfer was successful or not?

I am running node-red on a windows 10 machine. I was wondering if anybody has tried SFTP on a windows machine and if there was anyway to check if the transfer of a file was successful or not? If you have tried the SFTP, what node have you tried? Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure that FTP has built-in file validation - in fact I'm fairly sure it doesn't.

One way round that would be to use MD5 hashes of your file to check that the transferred file is indeed the same as the original.

So do you mean SFTP as per the text or FTP as per the title?

Have you tried the nodes suggested in your other thread about the FTP nodes?
