# Global list for language selection

What if we had only one global list for language selection? Instead of one list per language as we have today.

Something like this:

This would make it easier for users to select their language.

It would also make it easier for translators, especially when adding new languages to the list (I know this doesn't happen very often). It would no longer be necessary to translate the name of that language into other languages that the translator probably does not know.

This can be done if only the `en-US` catalog contains all the languages (and each language being translated into its own language)

I can make a PR if it's approved
