# How to get the msg.properties.path value

how to use the function node to get the value of the msg.properties.path.

i try this ['L1', 'Lighting', payload["/Favorites/L1\_KW/Total\_kW"]], but fail.

Should it be like this?

```auto
['L1', 'Lighting', msg.payload["/Favorites/L1_KW/Total_kW"]]

```

['L1', 'Lighting', {{payload./Favorites/L1\_KW/Total\_kW}}]

I use this can read it.

Looks more like a template node than a function. 😀
