# How to make a Shift Register in Node Red?

Ok. I'm dumb.

But reading post #3, it gets a `1` and shifts it _left_ ten times (for reasons undefined) and spits the `1` out after ten messages were/are received.

What happens to the messages between that original message and when the message saved is sent isn't declared.

Again: This is an alternative to do that. If it doesn't do what is needed it wasn't declared as I read it.

(Great TV show about to start, so I am going off line.)

He wants to use the array each time it is shifted. Nothing is mentioned about spitting the 1 out at that end.
