# How to sort node menu

hi,  
I have customized a node list, Enerwise Connect. Can I put it on the top? Not the bottom .

In fact, you can.

In your settings.js (usually in `.node-red` directory in your user's home), you should find the following paragraph.

```auto
    // The following property can be used to order the categories in the editor
    // palette. If a node's category is not in the list, the category will get
    // added to the end of the palette.
    // If not set, the following default order is used:
    //paletteCategories: ['subflows', 'common', 'function', 'network', 'sequence', 'parser', 'storage'],

```

Uncomment the `paletteCategories` property and order the items to your liking.
