# I need help, chart-ui from select sql server

I can't see the result of a select from sql server in a line graph, what can I do?

Are you trying to use the chart node from node-red-dashboard? If so then this page shows you how to format the data for passing to the chart. [node-red-dashboard/Charts.md at master · node-red/node-red-dashboard · GitHub](https://github.com/node-red/node-red-dashboard/blob/master/Charts.md)

I don't know if you are a beginner with node-red, but if so then I recommend watching this playlist: [Node-RED Essentials](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyNBB9VCLmo1hyO-4fIZ08gqFcXBkHy-6). The videos are done by the developers of node-red. They're nice & short and to the point. You will understand a whole lot more in about 1 hour. A small investment for a lot of gain.

Have you already watched the videos and read the link I posted on formatting the data? Also there’s a great page in the docs that will explain how to use the debug panel to find the right path to any data item.

Pay particular attention to the part about the buttons that appear under your mouse pointer when you over hover a debug message property in the sidebar.

I have looked at your flow. The first thing you need to do is to add a debug node showing what is coming out of the sql node so you can see what is there.

You can paste a screenshot here directly. It seems that all you have in your database is a set of values. Are those a sequence over time? If so then you need a timestamp too. If not a sequence over time what values do you want in the x axis?

It may seem simple to you, but it is not easy for me to understand exactly what you want. You said you wanted the values you show to be on the x axis (across the way), what value of y (up the way) do you want against 10.5 and what value against 10.7 and so on. The best thing to do would be to put the values you want into a spreadsheet, create a chart then and then post a screenshot of the chart. Then we should understand.

I'm sorry I didn't want to disrespect you, indeed I thank you for your support, I am grateful to you.

As you can see from the image on the X axis there is the local time of the pc, and on the Y axis the value of each single object of the array.  
I wish I could picture such a thing
