It looks like node-red-contrib-micropi hasn't been update in 4 years. You might want to explore the FLOWS tab here on th e forum and see if there is another microphone node that will work for you.

You might try out [node-red-contrib-sox-utils](https://discourse.nodered.org/t/announce-node-red-contrib-sox-utils-first-beta-testers-wanted/27563) which is in beta but I have gotten it to work with my usb mic on a Mac and a Pi
