Hi Nick @knolleary

Did you get a chance to look [this ↑ issue](https://discourse.nodered.org/t/mqtt-out-node-disconnects-when-topic-field-is-empty/56612/5) over?

I am fairly certain it is something we should look at.

I could raise a PR and point back to this topic for reference?
