# New Dashboard Chat Widget

Hi All, wanted to make you aware of a new `ui-chat` widget we've published: [node-red-dashboard-2-ui-chat (node) - Node-RED](https://flows.nodered.org/node/@flowfuse/node-red-dashboard-2-ui-chat)

It outputs messages typed by the user, and displays messages passed in (via `msg.payload`) with optional "author" via `msg.topic` and you can set a "typing..." status with `msg._typing`.
