# Next Release Planned - when?

Guys,

Can you give some tentative indication of when is the next release planned ?  
And what are the contents most likely it will have ?

3.1 is long overdue. We'll have the first beta release in the next couple weeks. I've said that for a while, but things (not Node-RED related) keep getting in the way.

It includes the ability to lock flows in the editor, set global environment variables, and a much more useful right-click context menu.

Thanks Nick. I hope [FR: Dynamic Link node enhancement request (backlog item) · Issue #3836 · node-red/node-red · GitHub](https://github.com/node-red/node-red/issues/3836) can make it to the cut.  
That will help make dynamic calls v powerful.
