to edit npm config enter...

  • npm config edit -g to edit global config
  • npm config edit to edit user config

weird, I've tried changing it and it doesn't reflect the change

Did you run that from the .node-red folder?
Also what did you change it from and to?

no... where can I change that in the .node-red folder? The one steve shared direct me to the npm folder in the AppData folder

I don't understand the question. What I asked was whether you were running
npm config edit
from the .node-red folder. I am not certain but I suspect it may matter which folder you are in.

Also what you changed and from what to what?
