Ah, but what if there is a grid in a forest and no-one is around to see it!

Just because you can't see the grid doesn't mean nodes can't - they operate in a different dimension so still click to align to the grid even when it's dark.

But several inbound PRs should throw some more light on the subject.

Ah, a "quantum grid" clearly.

The Deploy button, when there is nothing to deploy, is thoroughly greyed out but the "Restart Flows" action is actually still available.

Deploy button on V5
V5 Beta

Deploy button v4.1.8
V4.1.8

If you click the invisible down arrow to expand the options, I would expect the unavailable Deploy options to be greyed out here, but they are not.

Restart Flows is a valid action whether the flow has been modified or not.

The other three do not actually deploy, they specify which type of deploy to do when the deploy button is enabled and clicked. So it is valid to select one of those whether the deploy button itself is enabled or not.

The current beta has Stop & Restart Flows. The only thing I am not sure of is are they the same as stop-node-red and restart-node-red?

Well they are not deploy buttons, only "deploy method" options, that change the bahviour of the deploy button (when later usable).

[EDIT] Sorry, Colin, I did not notice you already answered this. Maybe my different wording of the same answer helps so I'll leave it.

Thanks for the clarifications.

In exchange I'll try to rephrase my observation.

When there is nothing to deploy, the down arrow next to the deploy button is greyed out even though the buttons it reveals are still fully functional.

Yes that is a valid point. The drop-down arrow should be shown enabled. That would look odd though.

Isn't it already looking odd?
The icon is not greyed out, despite there's nothing to deploy.
The arrow instead is greyed out, despite there's active functionality behind.

The label - at least when the system it set to use German language - makes it even worse. Assuming "Deploy" originates from the verb "to deploy", it should be "Übernehmen" (as well the verb). "Übernahme" is the noun. Not sure if & why we additionally need "deploy" in brackets then...

As I don't use such niche browsers  I kindly report that it works just fine on Firefox.

It will get me some time to get used to the complete rework of how panels and buttons now work. I assume there are a few "buckets" where panels can lay and I can toggle their visibility, but if I have several panels in one bucket, I can toggle only one? So the old version had just one right bucket with all panels inside but now I can extract some of them outside, like have always Debug visible in a separate bucket and all others grouped together?

Thanks for all your work.
Cheers

If I have debug window bottom right - I can't see last entry as it is hidden behind the buttons.... and I can't see the twisty to expand it.... very annoying. !!!

@dceejay that isn't the intended layout - just a bug to fix. Do you have any non default panels installed?

Isn't that what I reported? - Since fixed, pending release?

Only Dashboard v1 and v2 - both disabled - as per the buttons shown.

Isn't that what I reported

very well may be :+1: - was heads down debugging something else and getting annoyed - didn't go back and parse the debug list

Whilst Fixed I believe, I think the height is calculated incorrectly.

@marcus-j-davies is that screenshot the current beta or the latest dev code with the fix for your previously reported issue?
