**Title:** node-red-contrib-fanuc-focas 0.0.2 – does not reconnect after CNC power-cycle, only a Node-RED restart fixes it

Hi all,

I'm using node-red-contrib-fanuc-focas 0.0.2 to read FANUC CNCs over FOCAS2 (polling every ~15 s).

**Problem:** when a CNC is powered off and then back on, the node never reconnects. It keeps logging "Open handshake failed". Restarting Node-RED fixes it right away.

**Setup:** Node-RED [5.0.0], Node.js [V22], [Ubuntu]

**What I tried:**

- The CNC is reachable after power-up: no
- Redeploying the flow: does not fix it
- Full Node-RED restart: fixes it

Is this a known issue in 0.0.2? Is there a way to make it reconnect without restarting Node-RED?

Thanks!

I see the issue has been reported as an issue on the nodes [GitHub page](https://github.com/zhideloh/node-red-contrib-fanuc-focas) but the author has unfortunately not responded. You could add a comment there in the hope that you get a response.

Alternatively, you could try this project to collect your data:

> **[GitHub - Ladder99/fanuc-driver: Configurable Fanuc Focas data collector and post...](https://github.com/Ladder99/fanuc-driver)**
>
> Configurable Fanuc Focas data collector and post processor.

We use it to connect with about 25 Fanuc PLCs. Works flawlessly.
The data gets published via MQTT for further processing in a Node-RED instance.
