Can you expand on that Bart? What is missing from Zerotier for your use?  
I have both Zerotier and Tailscale accounts, I think I use Zerotier just because of it's simplicity.

I know this is covered in "etc" but it might be worth mentioning again that there are other ways than the exec node to execute OS commands.  
eg there was a [recent thread](https://discourse.nodered.org/t/exec-command-using-function-node-in-nodered/73612) about executing OS commands from a function node.
