Ah ok, so whatever was happening with my install causing constant disconnects was the culprit. That seems to have resolved itself and everything is running smoothly now 
I noticed the "speaker" node. Is there any chance this might be able to broadcast messages in the future? I have the home phone hooked into node-red now, so I could get google home to say the callers name out loud
