# Node red just keeps spinning in terminal window

I have npm installed on my Windows 11 machine and I ran the command ```

npm install -g --unsafe-perm node-red

But it just spins in terminal. The attached image has been running for 2 hours. Any help is appreciated

Try in a command window. Open it as admin.

I tried running it in terminal in admin mode but I am getting the same result. I re-installed node-v20.18.0-x64 but stil to no avail. Anybody else have this problem in th epast?

Specifically, did you use `cmd` (AKA DOS, AKA not powershell) and did you launch it by using "Run as Administrator"?
