# Node-RED on IIS Windows Server 2012 R2

I need help to expose nodered via internet on windows server 2012 R2. Currently i try to use IIS but encounter an error 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.
Can someone please help? or redirect me to helpful guide.

You need an IIS extension that allows node.js applications to be run by IIS itself. Such a thing exists as it is built-in to the version of IIS that underpins Azure web apps. Sorry, can't remember the name off the top of my head.
