# Not able to install package "smartmeter"

Dear all,

i tried to install the npm package "smartmeter".  
If I install it directly on the webinterface or via CLI I'll get the following errors.  
But I cannot interpretate, how to solve this problem.

Maybe do you have any suggestions?

I was able to solve this problem by installing in debian `build-essential` package.  
Afterwards it was possible to install this npm package.

Just to note that this requirement is mentioned on the [instructions for installing on Debian based systems](https://nodered.org/docs/getting-started/raspberrypi).
