One point to make the operation of Raspbain OS more secure, there are instructions like this on the net:

> The default user/password must be changed. At least the password should be changed. To increase security, **the user name should also be changed.**

The script [Running on Raspberry Pi : Node-RED](https://nodered.org/docs/getting-started/raspberrypi) is strongly recommended for installing Node-RED, but the installation only seems to **apply to the user 'pi'**. But this should be avoided.
How is an installation as recommended possible, _but with any other user name_?

In theory, just run the script when logged in as that user. I've never actually done it.

There is also a command line option --nodered-user=anotherusername.

As @jbudd says, it sets up node red for the current user. There is nothing in it specific to the user `pi`.

I must have been very inattentive yesterday, because my current NR installation is not running with 'pi' either. The installation log also clearly shows this.
Late evening, sleepy user
