# Open ui-link in new tab

Is there a way to configure the ui-link node in dashboard 2 to open in a new tab. This was a configurable option in Dashboard 1. Is there a workaround to do the same in D2

I know I can hold down crtl or shift to open separately but users may not know this

It’s a very small feature to add, it’s been asked for before, but we didn’t actually end up getting a PR opened: [The UI-Link node needs a target mode to be selected · Issue #1125 · FlowFuse/node-red-dashboard · GitHub](https://github.com/FlowFuse/node-red-dashboard/issues/1125)

I’ll add it to the todo list for the net couple of weeks.
