# Opening a webpage in a new window from a button

I am trying to open a webpage in a new window by using a button in node red. I tried using this example: [Opening external links using dashboard buttons (flow) - Node-RED](https://flows.nodered.org/flow/f0a1a4d30712a5e8b37a9287a8cdb3d4)

It's does open the links but it's not opening in a "new window". Is there something I can add to the code to make it open a new window?

Have you tried adding a target to the widow.open method [Window: open() method - Web APIs | MDN](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Window/open)
