Is there a way to prevent the reseting of the original msg when going through the MSSQL plus node?

Are you saying the original msg is lost once it comes out the other end? That is not how it is written and not what it's supposed to do.

As a test, set something like `msg.aaaa= 123` then send it through mssql-plus, it should still be there after the SQL executes.
