I have a basic foundation of C++ from a course taken in college, and more recent practical deals with Arduino. While exploring and learning Node-RED, it occurred to me that a textbook or course would help.

I first wondered, should I look more into Node.js or JavaScript...

Example1

- [The Complete Node.js Developer Course (3rd Edition)](https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-nodejs-developer-course-2/)
- [The Complete JavaScript Course 2021: From Zero to Expert!](https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-javascript-course/)

Example2

- [Google Books: Node.js](https://www.google.com/search?tbm=bks&q=Node.js)
- [Introduction to Javascript: The Basics](https://www.coursera.org/projects/intro-to-javascript-the-basics)

Since my main issues involve the code within function nodes, I should look into JavaScript. **Are there resources you recommend for learning JavaScript for Node-RED applications?** (Besides the "documentation" on this site.)

Have a look at the Learn enough JavaScript to be Dangerous course, free to use online. I am sure Google will find it.

Have a look at the Microsoft resources. They have a number of free training courses including JS and (I think) node.js.

Oh, you are right, they must have changed their policy on courses. That is a shame.
