# Run NR in Docker Container or Virtual Machine?

This came about as part of this thread ([VLC video on dashboard - #11 by BartButenaers](https://discourse.nodered.org/t/vlc-video-on-dashboard/1239/11)), if you are interested in the history - but it's grown sightly since, looking more at how to access more when using NR Docker
