# Section for contrib node code development?

Is it worth having a separate section for contrib node code development questions

If answer is yes - I'd be willing to trawl past posts and re-categorise them 🙂

core development was meant for those wanting to help develop the core of node-red, so not quite the slot you want.

It appears to me at least that most people use that section for their own stuff anyway. So perhaps re-categorise it (move it)?

Makes sense to move it top level, because Core development and Creating Nodes are quite different topics.

The #development category is so called to distinguish it from developing flows _using_ Node-RED. It is not exclusively about the core nodes or the core runtime etc.

The #development:creating-nodes category is for anyone asking about creating nodes. Yes, it makes sense to move that up a level - I will make it so
