No worries, I fully understand.
The `nopolling` option is now built into the live v6.8 anyway. There are now also functions to turn off and on [socket.io](http://socket.io) connections manually.
If your touch panels use web pages for display, you will probably be interested in v6.8+'s new front-end router library as well. Kiosk style single-page web apps are particularly suited to using FE routers & and being able to drive, potentially an entire organisation's display panels from a single page definition and dynamically controlled from Node-RED is a very powerful option.
