# Telegram receiver receives only messages starting with /

Hi there,

after a longer time I want to make some adjustments to my Telegram connection. For test, I have just connected a receiver and sender and a debug pad.

It receives /responds only messages starting with a "/" - why this?  
Also, when using a switch node and set msg.payload.content contains "/ccc" for instance, the switch does not give an output.

please help!

In the meantime i found, that it dies respond, when it receives the message directly, but not from a chat group (what I tried first)..

There was a recent thread (less than a month ago) on the forum that covered this. Do a search.

Essentially, you need to adjust your bot settings.
