Telemetry isn't working for me, probably a network/proxy issue.

Is it possible to get more information about how this feature works ?

Is there a log where I can view https calls ?

Hello,

You’ll need to be a bit more specific here, do you mean the new Telemetry introduced in Node-RED 4.1.0?

Or something different?

Either way what errors are you getting?

Yes, I'm referring to the new telemetry introduced in Node-RED 4.1.0.
Problem solved, it was a network issue !

OK, but it would still be useful to know what errors or effects you saw that made you think it was a problem.

If it can’t send the data it should silently fail or just print a clear info only message saying it failed.

The problem was that I wasn't seeing any notifications in the editor from a computer without internet access.
When I tried from a computer with internet access, the "update available" notification was present in the editor.
If this is the real cause, perhaps the documentation should be clarified.

PS:

just for clarity: node--red is installed on a virtual machine with internet access enabled only via npm
