# Unable to install node-red-admin

I am trying to `npm install -g node-red-admin` but getting many errors and warnings. I am trying to install so I can run `node-red-admin hash-pw`

It looks like you have missing prerequisites (i.e. python) ...

```
gyp ERR! stack Error: Can't find Python executable "python", you can set the PYTHON env variable.

```

You'll need to either install python or set the PYTHON environment variable so that NPM can find it.
