# Unable to install SQlite

you need windows-build-tools

```auto
npm install --global windows-build-tools

```

it can take a long time & appear stuck - wait it out, then try install sqlite once more

looks like you were in wrong folder.

make sure command prompt is inside your node-red folder (normally `c:\users\username\.node-red`)

Could this also be related to the version of nodejs not being supported with sqlite ?  
I had this issue also when i tried to upgrade to a more recent version of node (v14)  
and i had to revert back to version 12 to get sqlite working again.

i havent tried installing `npm install --global windows-build-tools` though.
