# Update from NodeJS 14 to 18 - any innovations?

Hi,
I´ve updated to Node Red 3 + Node JS 18.
Are any innovations in Node JS 18 which I should know / are useful in my flows ? 😬

As we still support Node14 - there is nothing (or shouldn't be) anything node 18 (or 16) specific in the core code or it wouldn't work on node 14... so short answer no...
Of course custom nodes may or may not do this, so there may be some (or some function nodes that users write) that may make use of "advanced" features... but YMMV.
