It happened, and I dismissed it, but then thought it should be something to mention.

It didn't take much effort to invoke the _problem_ again.

This is the screen as it was:

I then drag a `function` node onto the screen. **NOTHING ELSE**

And this is what I see:

How did those two _connections_ happen?

## weird!

Update:

It is still happening.

Today again it has happened in TWO different times.
Or, once, and I noticed it has two different places where the _rogue node_ is put.

Picture below is the part of the flow on which I am working.

 ![Screenshot from 2020-08-23 20-11-09](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex026/uploads/nodered/original/3X/1/1/1190e6698398fa611bdabc1bc535b7f5e7501768.png)

I drag a `function` node onto the flow.

Note where the node is put and where in the flow it connects.

 ![Screenshot from 2020-08-23 20-11-18](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex026/uploads/nodered/original/3X/e/4/e4a955fe98e537d24bd7bc1c1c147d7f7f054396.png)

Or if I moved the `function` node slightly see the other place where it connects.

Originally it happened on 12 Aug
Today is 23 Aug

I have been using NR in the mean time.
(As others will agree.)

This isn't/wasn't just a once off.

It might be caused by the theme. Have you updated the theme as well ?

Yes I have.

Sorry, I can't remember the name.

It was mentioned here a while back.

Found it.

[This one](https://github.com/bonanitech/midnight-red)

After thought.

Ok, it **could** be the _theme_.

I have it installed on **four** machines.

To date it has only happened on the one machine.

That machine is a _remote_ machine and though it gets edited, it is not edited as much as **this** machine, and the other two get their fair share of editing as well.

None of them have shown this problem to date.
