afelix
- Queer (they/them pronouns please), disabled and traumatised
- Q/A engineer (specialised in writing automated tests as part of feature and acceptance testing for black box web applications)
- Writing sets of automation to improve my own QoL and making accessible living possible. Aiming for quality over quantity, but quantity is necessary too as there’s a lot left to make sure I can go without full assisted living for the next decade.
- Building my own hardware where needed.
Projects in no particular order:
- Home ERP system as base for food and health monitoring
- Speech control over MQTT through the snips.ai platform, running on a raspi 3 B+ with a respeaker mic array v2 (microphone is perfect, will buy again)
- Windowsill herb garden with monitoring and autonomous irrigation (if needed), with control over MQTT
- Wheelchair GPS/distance tracker for activity monitoring
- Smart kitchen scales to monitor food intake, MQTT control with speech and manual input. Web control through an interface that creates an HTTP API over the MQTT publishing, either to be created through python+vue, or directly through node-red+uibuilder.
- Node red interfacing for web applications not under my control, for example to suggest books on my “to read” list before bed based on what I’m in the mood for.
- Generic oauth1 nodes for interacting with APIs. Ability to import from/export to Postman collection from the configuration node to define endpoints, or by hand by editing endpoints through an EditableList widget in the node-red editor. Will make it possible to automatically block spam followers on a not specified social network through the internal/undocumented API, as porn bots are everywhere.
