I have installed @sammachin node-red-matter-bridge , I had a lot of issues getting it to pair via the Alexa app.
In the end the only thing that worked was removing and reinstalling the Alexa app.
I have added a few devices mostly temp sensors and a socket node. While the devices do seem to work, I can see these devices appear and disappear every few seconds in the Alexa app.
If I click on the matter bridge (when still visible) I can see it is jumping between different echo devices, (as shown in the devices settings - connected via)
I don't have any real matter devices so have no experience with matter but I am assuming this is not normal behaviour ?
Is anyone else using this node seeing this with multiple echo's on the network ?
I have been using these nodes for a while now (also the hardware matter-controller) and the matter-bridge devices Connected-via is rock solid (just rechecked to make sure). I have quite a few devices on the matter-bridge nodes and they do not all connect to the same Alexa device, but they do stay connected to that Alexa device (Alexa Echos)
What I have noticed is that whenever I go to the device page it takes a while for the Matter devices to appear, but that could just be my naff network
@Buckskin Given I have already needed to reinstall the Alexa app to get it to work at all, I'm quite prepared to think it's more an Amazon issue than the nodes.
However I could do with some reassurance that if I move all my devices over to the matter bridge, it's not just going to fall over at some point.
I'm running the latest Alexa app on my android phone, can I ask what you are using ?
You mentioned it takes a while for the Matter devices to appear on the device page.
If you leave this page open for some time, while watching the list of bridged devices, does the list seem to be refreshing, with items disappearing and then reappearing.
As far as I can tell this happens when the bridge reconnects to a different echo device. I don't think this should be happening, at least not so often.
Hi Sean,
I'm a little busy this week between work and life but I'll try and look into it this weekend, In the meantime could you describe a little about the setup, how is node-red deployed, what does the local network look like between Node-RED and your Amazon Echo(s) etc. Is it just a simple subnet?
I use this in my own home with Alexa alone with Apple Home and Flic controllers and its solid I've got about ~30 devices on the bridge so you should be fine.

Hi Sean, I also use the latest Android app on my phone (also a tablet) but I also have the devices connected to Google and a second Amazon account.
As far as I can tell the delay before the devices appear in the Alexa app, is as you say, the device connecting to one of my Echos, not always the same one. I also see the devices disappearing and reappearing. They take a while to appear the first time and then there is a delay before they seem to re-route. This disappear / reappear
I have a mix of sensors, smart bulbs & sockets and Sonoff mini switches installed as light switches (about 20 devices). These have all been running for some time.
The only thing I am not sure of is, did I create the first link via Google or Alexa, as both show all three connections as links. Google Home shows all devices straight away but I only have 1 Google Mini Hub.
Unfortunately I don't know enough about Matter to know if connecting to different hubs is normal.
My network is a naff EE router with extenders (large Victorian house). The Pi running Node-RED with the matter nodes is connected to the EE router via ethernet.
I have been quite happy with the matter nodes although I have not yet transferred everything from the Google and Alexa connected nodes.
It would appear that we need a way to fix the bridge to one hub (Amazon Echo etc). Not sure if this helps at all.

OK well at least it is not just me
Perhaps this IS normal ?, but if for example I wanted to switch something on via the app, it's difficult if the device in question vanishes just as I'm about to tap on it
If any others could check this and chime in here please ?
@sammachin Let me know if you need anything else.
NR installed via standard script, no docker etc.
The Pi and Echoes are on the same simple network, The Pi is hardwired.
There are some errors in this 7 minutes of debug log - For info
