Help with base64 image

I am trying to save a base64 image to a file but I don't seem to be able to get it to work.
Any assistance / guidance would be appreciated.

Tried using a function module and also just saving it to a file with a base64 node in between without success.

Below is the payload I receive.

I have tried the below in a function module without success:
msg.payload = Buffer.from("image/png", "base64");

Is there something I am missing or maybe mis-understanding?

Yes. You are encoding a fixed string "image/png" inside Buffer.from("image/png", "base64"); instead of the real data.

The data is inside msg.payload.map you need to use that to create a buffer then write it to file.

e.g...

msg.payload = Buffer.from(msg.payload.map, "base64");
return msg;

There’s a great page in the docs (Working with messages : Node-RED) that will explain how to use the debug panel to find the right path to any data item.

Pay particular attention to the part about the buttons that appear under your mouse pointer when you over hover a debug message property in the sidebar.

Thanks for your quick reply and it is all working.

Once I added the .map on the end of the code all is working well.
One of those keep looking but didn't see the error....
