You don't need to look at a new way of doing it, the way we have will work, it may just need a little adjustment. You do need to provide the information required. What is the sequence of inputs? In your earlier posts you had y zero at times so your truth table does not show the full sequence.
If fact if the truth table were sufficient then you could ignore gpioy and say that whenever gpiox is 1 then open the roof and whenever it is 0 then close the roof.
Doesn't that contradict your earlier explanation of :
Maybe it would help us to understand if you showed a complete set of the inputs and outputs you want, e.g.
if X is low and Y is low - then...
if X is low and Y is high - then...
if X is high and Y is low - then...
if X is high and Y is high - then...
and also, if the actions are different when the roof is open, closed, or somewhere in between.
I think this is fairly simple to solve, but the information is incomplete at the moment.
I think I see the problem. On the way from the quiescent state (x and y both 0) to the valid state x and y both 1, it can transiently go through x 1 with y 0 which triggers an undesirable output. The solution is to add a Trigger node between the Join node and the function node, configured like this
That will suppress the transient states and only pass on the final state each time.

When imaging remote stellar object, I use software capture program and LesveDome which is able to control the Observatory. When bad weather / Clouds are there I can automatically close the roof. The weather station is also interacting with the node-red flows
This software is based on the Velleman k8055n. I like to control also all equipment beside to control them with a PC. i use the PI as kind of the heart of the observatory, withn node read installed. I can connect to the observatory via VPN and can connect to node-red dasboard. The roof open en closed is bases on two switchees open and closes which i like to replace with relays. See also in the image.
You understand there must be many fail-proof situations. I must drive two hours before I am there
