I have no good justification for the suggestion but given it's a legacy OS, I would try installing with node.js v14 bash <(curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/node-red/linux-installers/master/deb/update-nodejs-and-nodered) --node14

I believe that was it in the second image. Installing node-red failed in the same way as it did when tried manually, though non-global installs work ok. Very odd.
