Let's discuss how we might use AI to detect people in stills, for low CPU users like me

The main issue is that most people tend tp purchase cameras for the Megapixels - without looking at the size of the sensor that it is paired with.

Most people would think this is too expensive for a home camera

But it will give you a hell of a lot better image than something like this one

I have the two different versions of these - the larger sensor ones are only used in areas with motion sensors that will activate external lights - the smaller 1.2" sensor is fine with ambient lighting

(This is from the 180degree view camera)

I use the Frigate Add-on in Home Assistant to detect "person". Microwave presence detectors would trigger on my dog walking into the bedroom. PIR would trigger on anything warm. I am using a cheap $35 Wyze CAM v3, flashed with the RTSP firmware (from Wyze). I have a camera looking at my driveway and any car in the driveway will turn on the driveway light. In my office, any person in the camera view will turn on the office light.
