I meant that it sounds as if it should be simple to use setTimeout to interject a delay into the loop, which will allow other flows in node red to continue at the same time. However, unless you are experienced in using the timer functions there are a number of pitfalls that one can easily fall into. Without knowing your experience level and without seeing the details of your code I can't tell whether you have avoided them or not.
