Permanent running Node-Red Methods?

NOTE: Assuming windows...

  • NSSM
  • PM2
  • Scheduled Task
  • shortcut to node-red in start up folder
  • many many "tray-it" type apps (search internet for tray-it alternatives)
  • NSSM
    Runs as a service (runs even when you log off)
  • PM2
    Can run as as a service (bit more fiddly to setup)
  • Scheduled Task
  • shortcut to node-red in start up folder
  • many many "tray-it" type apps (search internet for tray-it alternatives)
    Can set it to run when you log on
    CON: Will be visible in taskbar (easy to close accidentally)
    CON: Stops if you log-off

All have their merits - I prefer NSSM
